South African Women’s High Performance Squad Announced for 2025/26

Following the conclusion of the 2025 South African Hockey IPT, the South African Hockey Association is proud to announce the SA Women’s Hockey High Performance Squad for the 2025/26 cycle.

The group represents a blend of seasoned internationals and exciting new faces, reflecting both the depth of talent in the country and the vision of preparing the team for future international success.

Headlining the squad are stalwarts Quanita Bobbs (185 caps), Kristen Paton (80 caps), Onthatile Zulu (69 caps) and Hannah Pearce (54 caps) – players who bring invaluable experience to the setup. They are joined by proven performers including Edith Molikoe (47 caps), Stephanie Botha (43 caps), Ongeziwe Mali (43 caps), and Marlise van Tonder (41 caps).

The squad also welcomes several uncapped and emerging players who impressed during the recent IPT, underlining the pathway from provincial hockey to the national programme. Names such as Akhile Mdlalane, Hannah Quinton, Nomsa Mzizi, and Tatum Kroutz will be looking to establish themselves at the next level

Commenting on the announcement, Head of High Performance Reggie Smith said:

“The IPT once again highlighted the strength of South African women’s hockey across all provinces. This squad is about building on that momentum, ensuring we have the balance of experience and youth to take South Africa forward in the international game.”

The squad will now begin preparations for the upcoming international calendar, which includes test series at home and abroad as well as the build-up to the next World Cup.
