The United States responded in stunning fashion, levelling the match within two frantic minutes as Jack Weitzman and Alexandre Beauduin both converted from penalty corners.
With both sides creating chances in a gripping finish, it was New Zealand who found the decisive moment. Benedict van Woerkom fired home from a late penalty corner to complete a dramatic victory and secure a perfect six-point day, booking New Zealand’s place in the Semi-Finals.
